2 sessions Saturday May 23rd and Sunday May 24th 9:30am – 11:30am 16 places for each session.  $80 pp

Immerse yourself in tradition, tasting and demonstrations. Hands-on activities including butter churning, wheat grinding and gem scone baking in an early 1900s scotch oven and bakehouse. Chat with the local potter and take away a butter bowl of your own.

Participants will see the early 1900s ways of producing staple foods such as butter making, hand grinding wheat and baking of gem scones using the original style utensils and tools, baking oven, recipes and methodology.

Your experience will encompass demonstrations, some hands-on work, tastings of locally made preserves alongside butter and gem scones. There will be an opportunity to visit and chat with the local potter from the El Dorado Pottery. The studio potter has recreated old style buy deltasone butter bowls for each participant to take away. The 100 year old scotch baker’s oven being fired and using the hand wheat grinder and butter churn will be highlights of the session

2 sessions Saturday May 23rd and Sunday May 24th 9:00am – 12:00noon 15 places for each session.  $90 pp

Eldorado Garlic and Chilli Company will be hosting a High Country Harvest Event on their property in Eldorado. This will give the participants the opportunity to learn how to plant a crop of garlic and learn the theory of garlic production by an experience farm gate producer.

Demonstrations in fruit and nut tree pruning, basic soil testing as well as tasting some of the preserved products from the previous season.

The participants will enjoy visiting a small property that takes its inspiration from Italy and will be provided an amazing morning tea with plenty of time to wander around and chat with the host.
